A Letter from Jim Schlottman of Quiet Waters
God intends our marriage to be a profound testimony to Christ’s love for His bride, the church. We are also called to work hard and make strategic sacrifices for the sake of our ministry calling. As couples, we must seek to both think and act as leaders, working together to fulfill both our marriage and ministry missions. We must model self-care strategies to our organizations, ministry teams and marriages. How do we manage this ongoing tension and stay focused on the mission?
Our goal in this training is to help you intentionally integrate those complementary missions, acquiring new tools and practicing skills that foster an authentic, thriving sense of self as well as a healthy marriage in the midst of ministry.
You will leave this workshop able to identify the current strengths and liabilities you bring to self care and marriage care. You will clarify the mission of your marriage; review the boundaries of your ministry by mapping your roles and goals using strategic collaboration. This will help you develop a clearer sense of yourself both professionally and as a spouse. Your family, your board and your Church as a whole will gain a new respect for your ministry boundaries and learn to support your growth plan.
