“Flourish” is a luncheon served in the Great Hall of the Castle at Glen Eyrie. Glen Eyrie is excited to offer this gathering opportunity for women over 50 which is designed to serve and inspire women to finish strong. Topic: Beauty from Ashes;Discovering Beauty in the Sacred Journey of Life Elizabeth Metcalf will be sharing her very personal story of the intrigue of God's powerful force of beauty that began in her childhood beginning with her loving and creative Mother's example lived out before her. Her story includes the deep losses her father and her beloved sister, Nancy at the tender age of 16 as well as her mother's extreme sacrifice that shaped Elizabeth’s early years so she could grasp the fullness of God's intentions for her life.
Elizabeth's message will foster a sense of God as the Creator of All Beauty, an understanding of His redemptive work and a challenge to be constantly growing as an instrument of inspiration to others. Take hold of the joy and gratitude that you can express through your passions as you catch of glimpse of Elizabeth’s artistic passions and her desire to create beauty for others.
About the Speaker Elizabeth Metcalf is a native of Colorado and was raised in Denver. Elizabeth credits her upbringing as the creative soil that fostered her love of all things beautiful and also where she learned the value of seeing the beauty all around us as one of the most powerful, renewing gifts from God, no matter what our circumstances.
One of her passions, calligraphy, has been a major thrust of creating beauty in her life and her business, Elizabeth Metcalf Designs has brought her great joy for over 40 years. She and her husband, Tony have resided in Colorado Springs for 26 years and are the owners of Colorado Springs Wholesale Florist Company where Elizabeth has also had the joy of being involved in many creative projects which include being a design and sourcing consultant to the American Girl Doll Company. Elizabeth's love of celebration has been one of her other passions and she has lovingly created parties and teas for her 2 daughters, Rachael and Elizabeth and 2 grandchildren, Alix and Summer as well as many others she has loved honoring. Her hope is to bring glory to God and encouragement to others through her love of creating beauty and the refreshment it provides to our minds, souls and spirits.
