Step out of the spotlight and BREATHE!
You’re involved in worship somehow—as a staff leader or as a volunteer—musically, artistically, or technically. You love it. You’re thankful for it. But maybe you need to come out of the “doing” of worship, and let your heart, soul, and mind be reminded why it’s such a great honor to worship, and WHO it is you are worshipping! This is the essence of BREATHE—to create an amazing environment for people in the worship trenches to experience deep soul refreshment.
General Gatherings—“SELAH” In the Psalms, we regularly see this word in-between verses. It is believed to designate a pause, an encouragement to “stop and listen.” BREATHE’s main gatherings will focus on our need to do this—teaching us, showing us how, and letting us do it!
BREATHE offers worship teams many opportunities to grow in practical ways—through the general sessions, workshops, focused worship-related discussions over meals, and more, with worship arts leaders who are eager to get to know you and encourage you where you are. We want this retreat to help you grow in spirit and in skill!

Christy Nockels is the daughter of a pastor and a piano teacher, which infused her heart early with a love for both music and God’s word. Christy met her husband Nathan in 1993. They married in 1995, and the two began serving as worship leaders in their local church in Oklahoma City. It was after Christy and Nathan moved to Texas that they were “discovered” by Rocketown Records. Eventually they signed a recording contract as “Watermark” and moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1998. Together as Watermark, Christy and Nathan recorded five albums. They have been nominated for numerous Dove Awards, including Christy’s nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year. This gave Christy more time at home with their children, and more availability to focus on leading worship. Christy’s heart through leading worship and song writing is to help people communicate intimately with the living God, and to leave a legacy of proclaiming Jesus’ fame to this generation.
